To provide opportunities to enhance the literacy, academic achievement, and life skills of our students and families by supporting mutually rewarding relationships between them and the Oakland school community.

  • Educational Liaison: Staff serve as liaison between OUSD and students who are homeless or in foster homes.
  • Transportation: Provides transportation to school for homeless youth.
  • Tutoring & Parent Education Workshops: Provides tutoring for students who are homeless or in out-of-home care. Also provides workshops for parents who are homeless.
  • Educational Advocacy and Case Management : Provides assistance with affidavits of residency for homeless youth, assistance with enrollment and transfers, and assistance in obtaining supplemental educational materials and accessing community resources.
