| Alameda Family Services is a human services organization, active in Alameda and the East Bay, whose programs improve the emotional, psychological, and physical health of children, youth, and families. Dream Catcher Youth Shelter is a program of Alameda Family Services which provides emergency shelter to youth ages 13 through 18. |

| |
- Emergency Shelter: For youth ages 13 through 17 (18 if enrolled in school) in Alameda County who have run away from home, been thrown out of their homes or who are living on the streets. The services are free of charge, voluntary, and confidential.
- Support Center: Provides a community supper, laundry facilities, case management, crisis counseling, weekly on-site health clinic, health education classes, academic and computer tutoring, job skills support, recreation and art activities, Friday movie night, and a safe place to hang out.

| Alameda Family Services, formerly known as Xanthos, began in 1969 as a hotline and drop-in center for young people with drug and alcohol concerns and has developed into a program with a wider mission, including to provide emergency shelter through Dream Catcher. |
