activities
Job Skills Training and Employment :
Juma employs youth ages 15-19 as ice cream and coffee vendors during games at ATT and Monster Park in SF, Warriors and MacAfee Coliseum in Oakland, Qualcomm in San Diego and Nationals, in Washington D.C.
Educational and Career Services:
Youth who join Juma's program agree to participate in the full breadth of support services over a 1-2 year period as appropriate, depending on each youth's individual needs. Each youth participant works with Juma's staff to create an Individual Development Plan that identifies future goals and designs an action plan for achieving them. These comprehensive plans identify goals and developmental needs with education, careers, financial literacy and savings, personal health, and other important life skills.
Financial Literacy Education:
Juma provides incentive-based savings accounts for youth to save toward college and other future goals, provides financial education that develops money management skills, and then matches youths' savings when funds are used for college, starting a small business, or purchasing a home.
