Walk a Mile Closing Reception: Tomorrow
 
Please join us tomorrow night in celebration of the youth and policymakers who participated in the FYA Walk a Mile Project. The Walk a Mile Closing Reception will be held Friday, December 15th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. at the Garden Center, 666 Bellevue Avenue, Oakland. Join us for some delicious food and lively conversations.
 
FYA’s Main Phone Number Has Changed
 
The main phone number for the Foster Youth Alliance has been temporarily changed. To reach Amy Freeman, call 510-527-2313. FYA’s mailing address remains the same.
 
FYA Professional Development Training: January 9th
 
The next FYA Professional Development Training for Direct Service Staff will be held Tuesday, January 9th from 9:30 to 12:30 at ILSP, 2647 International Blvd, Suite 312, Oakland.

The topic will be “Breaking the Cycle of Domestic Violence.”

FYA Brown Bag Trainings for Management Staff to be Discontinued
 
While the FYA Professional Development Trainings for direct service staff continue to be very well attended, the Brown Bags for management staff are not. For this reason, FYA is discontinuing the Brown Bags.
 
ILSP Mid-Year Orientation: January 6th
 
Alameda County ILSP will hold its mid-year orientation on Saturday, January 6, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the ILSP Office, 2647 International Blvd, Suite 312, Oakland. Youth must rsvp to Therese Clenney at 510-434-2433 or the ILSP front desk at 510-434-3333.
 
Project Bridge Enrollment
 
Now is the time for young adults to enroll in community college classes for the Spring 2007 semester, which starts in mid January. For information about Project Bridge, a basic skills learning community at Laney College, click here.

Registration for Spring Semester 2007 is now going on at Laney in room A-109.

Classes begin on Thursday, January 11, 2007
