  Extended Foster Care Survey: Provider
  1. Introduction
The Children's Advocacy Institute (CAI) has undertaken a project funded by The California Wellness Foundation. The project will study the challenges faced by foster youth upon emancipating from the foster care system and it will examine the services offered to these young people. CAI will study how the current system could be expanded or improved upon to better serve former foster youth in the critical years following their exit from the system.

CAI's goal is to vastly improve outcomes for youth who age out of California's foster care system. To that end, CAI will use the information gathered through this survey and other research to engage in a vigorous public education campaign aimed at legislators, the public, and most importantly, current and former foster youth.

For the purposes of gathering information, the expanded services and funding that might be provided after a foster youth emancipates from the system under CAI's proposal will be referred to as "Extended Foster Care." Please do not allow this term to color your responses. You will be given an opportunity to give suggestions for a more appropriate term at the end of the survey.

Thank you for your participation. This information will help guide our efforts to improve the prospects for foster youth in California.
